1.Image display pane is most important and prominent pane.

2.Displays image data.

3.Cannot be switched on / off.

4.First seen is the rotating globe - the default view.

5.Globe can be dragged and turned to view areas of interest.

6.Left button to zoom in and right to zoom out. Scroll mouse can be used.

7.Manipulate the view with navigational toolbar.

3.Methods to search for a place:Name of place, Name should figure in the website database. Eg, sialkot, pakistan. –Typing latitude / longitude of a place; For major locations in the usa, one can carry out a local search or even receive directions from one place to another.

TYPES OF LAYERS

1.LAYERS CAN BE SWITCHED ON / OFF.

2.ACTUAL IMAGE CONSTANTLY DISPLAYED.

3.EG, BY SWITCHING OFF THE ROADS LAYER, COLOURED LINES INDICATING THE ROADS WILL NO LONGER BE DISPLAYED. HOWEVER, ROADS WILL REMAIN VISIBLE ON THE IMAGE.

4.SWITCHING OFF THE AIRPORTS LAYER WILL NOT DISPLAY THE NAMES OF AIRPORTS. HOWEVER, AIRPORTS WILL STILL BE SEEN.

5.LAYERS PROVIDE A THEMATIC VIEW TO A NORMAL USER.

6.LAYERS CANNOT BE ADDED OR DELETED.

1.THE GUI OF THIS SOFTWARE IS SIMPLE, INTUITIVE AND USER FRIENDLY.

4.LAYERS MENU – CANNOT BE MODIFIED.

5.PLACES MENU – CAN BE MODIFIED.
